Medical School 5 yrs. Pre-registration House Officer 6 months medicine, 6 months surgery. 3 year surgical common trunk Senior House Officer rotation and pass MRCS exam. Usually 1 or 2 years research leading to a higher degree. 6 year specialist registrar programme with FRCS Urol exam prior to admission to specialist registrar and consultant post.


Career prospects

Controlled numbers of Specialist Registrars and Consultants. Currently numbers are expanding.
